2018 Reflection

Assalamualaikum and hi guys!

So it has been a long time since I wrote here, as always. I did not write as often as I would anymore, but I will try to share with you guys my update from time to time. I did not even write any farewell to 2018 as I always did to the previous years. December and January were quite busy months for me considering the final examination took place at that time. However, alhamdulillah, I managed to pass by the hard times struggling for the exams. Or did I even struggle?

For your information, I have also changed this blog url from www.nurinaizzati.com to nafasbaruu.blogspot.com because I have decided not to  pay for the domain name any longer. As you might already know, I don’t write here as frequent as I did before, hence it will be a waste of money to pay for a not-quite-active domain name. Well, that’s a little bit story to why the url has been changed. I might also change the layout of this blog later considering it’s quite dusty over here. However, no worries. I will ensure this blog will be updated, even if it’s once in a year. I wrote too many things here and reading back my posts is one of the ways to tell how much I have grown up during the years.

Anyway, I would like to take this challenge from the Salty Soul blog regarding 30 questions to reflect my 2018. There’s actually 50 questions provided but I’m just gonna go with 30. I hope my answers can summarize my 2018 well. So yeah, here we go!

MY 2018

1.What one event, big or small, are you going to tell your grandchildren about?
I didn’t really have many events happening in 2018, but if I were to choose, probably the time when I received a bronze medal during Temasya Olahraga Tahunan (TOT) in my university. It was around April this year. I have zero intentions on winning, but I didn’t intend to lose either. Miraculously I won the third place. It was a memorable event for me.

2.If you had to describe your 2018 in 3 words, what would they be?
Moments of Appreciation.

3.What new things did you discover about yourself?
I’m better than what I have always thought before.

4.What single achievement are you most proud of?

5.What was the best news you received?

6.What was your favourite place that you visited in 2018?
Bukit Bendera in Penang, at night.

7.Which of your personal qualities turned out to be the most helpful this year?
My level of patience and endurance.

8.Who was your number one go-to person that you could always rely on?
I think I solved many problems on my own, but in terms of sharing, I can name a number of my friends that are quite a good listener. But if I were to state one person, maybe Syafikah?

9.Which new skills did you learn?

10.What, or who, are you most thankful for?
I’m thankful for all the experiences I have in this year, with all the people around me. I’m so grateful.

11.If someone wrote a book about your life in 2018, what kind of genre would it be? A comedy, love story, drama, film noir or something else?
Definitely drama.

12.What was the most important lesson you learnt in 2018?
In this life, no one else is going to solve your problems for you. So, toughen up and solve all your problems by yourself.

13.Which mental block(s) did you overcome?
It’s frustrating but I haven’t overcome my mental block yet.

14.What 5 people did you most enjoy spending time with?
It’s a tough question because there are many of them. If I really have to choose 5, then perhaps my family (count as one), Syafikah, Syarafana, Maryam and Yana. I’m sorry for those who are not mentioned here. This question forces me to choose limited people.

15.What was your biggest break-through moment career-wise?
If this question is related to my career, I don’t really have one. And even if I do have some jobs, I don’t think I have any break-through yet.

16.How did your relationship to your family evolve?
It’s the same as always. Haha.

17.What book or movie affected your life in a profound way?
I don’t really remember much because I watched a lot of movie this year. There’s not really a movie that affected my life. But I watched a lot of anime and I have this one anime that left quite an impact on me. The title is Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (The World is Still Beautiful). It think it’s from 2012 but I just watched it this year. What left an impact on me is the main character (hero) that has everything in the world, but never can see the beauty in it until he gets to know with a princess from one of his colonial countries.

18.What was your favourite compliment that you received this year?

“You’re so innocent.” & "You're my idol."
I'll just take that both as a compliment though I don't really deserve the latter.
Also, "This thing wouldn't have worked without you."

19.What little things did you most enjoy during your day-to-day life?
Small chats.

20.What cool things did you create this year?
Perhaps my ice-cream stick house which I created during my handicraft classes.

21.What was your most common mental state this year (e.g. excited, curious, stressed)?
Definitely stressed.

22.Was there anything you did for the very first time in your life this year?
Cosplaying.

23.What was your favourite moment spent with your friends?
Skipping class just to eat at Subaidah with them.

24.What major goal did you lay the foundations for?

25.Which worries turned out to be completely unnecessary?
Adapting with people at my workplace. I shouldn’t have been worried too much considering they are nice and fun person to be with.

26.What experience would you love to do all over again?
Pesta Pantun Antara Desasiswa (PADU).

27.What was the best gift you received?
Planner from Najat Izyani.

28.How did your overall outlook on life evolve?

29.What was the biggest problem you solved?
